Hi Ramesh,

I have upgraded mythtv numerous times over the years whenever I've
upgraded my debian version.  I don't have a lot of input because
upgrades have always run smoothly and I've never had problems.

However I would say your approach is a good approach.  Come back if you
are having problems.
