Sorry, I made a mental note to reply and then completely forgot.
Yes, I've upgraded and at least in X11 mode all is good, thanks!
I briefly tried wayland mode but it hung during the fade in of the main
menu. According to
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/pull/1329 (since I
can't actually remember) prior to the recent round of upstream fixes
"Qt6 Wayland with -platform wayland does not start for me with or
without these changes (I just get a black screen)" so I guess hanging
while fading in the menu is progress of a sort. I haven't tried wayland
with `-platform xcb` recently -- but I assume it would work as well as
pure X11 mode.
There's an issue with VAAPI h/w assist on my Intel GPU which I've only
just noticed (it's been falling back to software which I didn't notice
until I was paying attention due to the Qt 5->6 update) but I'm
positive it's actually been there for a while (even multiple upstream
releases) and for sure it is independent of Qt 5/6. Pretty sure it is
an upstream issue not a packaging issue, I'm still gathering info for
an upstream report.
Ian.
